Sheraton Atlanta Hotel Taps New National Account, National Sales Managers
ATLANTA (March 8, 2004) - Sheraton Atlanta Hotel Managing Director Paul Breslin was named "General Manager of the Year" at the 13th Annual Silver Plume Awards, which honored the Concierge Society of Atlanta (CSA). The formal event, hosted by WHERE Magazine, was held February 22 at Buckhead's 103 West Restaurant and recognized the outstanding achievements of Atlanta's tourism professionals.
Awards were presented and announced in four categories: Up-and-Coming Concierge, Concierge of the Year, Sturges Hyde Distinguished Service Award and General Manager of the Year. The Concierge Society Board nominates three members each for the former three categories; CSA members cast nominees for General Manager of the Year. Nominees are turned over to five judges, who select the winners.
"Paul exceeded the criteria for Silver Plume nominees," said Diane Casey, owner and publisher of WHERE Atlanta Magazine. "He personifies the highest standards of leadership and service, and his commitment to Atlanta's tourism industry is instrumental to what puts this city on the map."
Breslin has been with the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel since November 2000, when he joined as general manager; he was named managing director of the hotel in August 2003.
Breslin is also Chairman of the Georgia Hospitality & Travel Association, Vice Chairman of Atlanta Hospitality and Travel and Chairman of Lodging for the State of Georgia. He has been named in the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of Atlanta's Most Influential and a Hospitality "Who's Who."
The Silver Plume Awards are recognized internationally as the crowning achievement for the concierge profession. Held in over 20 major cities, including Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York and Los Angeles, the Awards are a tradition that establishes winners among an elite group of professionals.
