Michelle Rini Named Executive Assistant Manager for Sheraton Atlanta Hotel
ATLANTA (February 18, 2004) - The Sheraton Atlanta Hotel announces the appointment of Michelle Rini as Executive Assistant Manager, effective immediately. Rini brings nearly 18 years of multiple-market experience to her position.
Rini primarily will oversee the hotel's food and beverage operations, but also will be responsible for special projects such as the Business Center and the Sheraton's $8.5 million conference center and ballroom addition. The addition, scheduled for completion by mid-summer, will offer 33,000 additional square feet of function space and will increase the property's size to 83,000 square feet, making it the fifth- largest hotel in Atlanta.
"Our staff is busy presenting the 'new' Sheraton Atlanta Hotel to the city and its visitors, and Michelle will be instrumental in achieving that goal," said Paul Breslin, the hotel's managing director. "We're pleased to have her on our team."
Rini's previous experience includes the Princess Royale Hotel in Ocean City, Md., where she was assistant general manager; Trump Plaza, Trump World's Fair and Caesar Casino in Atlantic City, N.J.; and Divi Divi in the Caribbean Islands. For the latter three properties, Rini served as food and beverage director and operations director.
Her work has earned her a Who's Who of Culinary Arts and National Home Economics awards.
Rini holds a B.S. in Food Service Manager from Johnson & Wales College in Providence R.I. She also served on the faculty advisor board at Atlantic Community College and was faculty advisor for the Johnson & Wales Wine Society. She parlays her involvement in education into what she says is the most rewarding aspect of her work, which is teaching and training her staff.
A Cleveland native, Rini currently resides in Atlanta.
